Daniel Griffin, the founder of Griffin’s Horse Archery, grew up riding horses from a very young age, like his passion for archery. Being one of the first individuals in South Africa to explore and pursue Horse Archery professionally, Daniel has since accomplished many achievements:

• 1st Place Jordanian Style, Al-Faris 2012 in Jordan.
•  Winner of the Polish Track at EOCHA 2013 in Turkey.
• Winner of the Hungarian Style at the IHAA Postal 2015.
• Winner of the MAGAT 2015 in South Africa, and the Trophees de l’Association Cheval Arc – TACA in France 2016.

Daniel recently ranked 7th in 2023 for competitions held through WFEA (World Federation of Equestrian Archery) on the Original Kassai System (OKS) track. Daniel is now also a member of the international board of directors for WFEA, and is a recognised international judge for this system of competition. Daniel regularly goes to Kassai Valley in Hungary to meet with Kassai and other judges of the Kassai school, and has since followed closely in the footsteps of their ways and teachings.

Daniel primarily spends his time working and improving the land and facilities at Griffins Valley, the home of Griffins Horse Archery. Here he has 13 horses living as a natural herd with vast open fields to explore. Griffins Valley also hosts many wild antelope, water buffalo, and other game – which brings out a natural indigenous feel to the area. A large section of the land Daniel owns is purely dedicated to untouched Fynbos, a flora unique to this area of Western Cape. 

Griffins Valley has since also grown a committed club of horse archers that partake in regular training and competitions, all which was started and managed by Daniel Griffin, alongside a dedicated team of workers who help him ensure everything is run efficiently. This commitment over the years from Daniel Griffin, as well as the constant developments that happen, make Griffin’s Horse Archery one of the more unique Horse Archery facilities in the world.
